Captain Cool and the Fire of Death
By Sam Beglin
Deep in the coldest ocean, in a submarine, lived a very famous hero called Captain Cool. Suddenly his radar alerted him to a problem. A villain was causing chaos in Ireland. It was the Villainous Volcan an up to mischief again and he had set fire to Dublin.
Captain Cool blasted off to Ireland tearing through the sea like a bullet. He reached Dublin and found the Villainous Volcan on the highest building hurling fire bolts everywhere.
Captain Cool climbed out of his submarine and flew to the roof of City Hall. The Villainous Volcan had not noticed Captain Cool (even though he was really high up). Captain Cool used his snow powers to quickly put out the flames but just as he was going to deal with Volcan, he heard a roar. Volcan had created a fiery dragon that breathed out even greater fire bolts than his master had thrown. The dragon tried to shoot Captain Cool but he was too quick for him.
Captain Cool could tell that he needed more power if he was to defeat the dragon and Volcan, so he had an idea. He knew he could speak to the creatures of the deep and so he dove into the sea and summoned a giant whale and a swarm of swordfish. Together they formed a water tornado. The dragon was scared of water and raced away but a jet spray still hit its wing. The dragon lost control of his wings and came hurtling down. When it hit the ocean it fizzled away into the water.
Volcan was horrified and also furious. He flew down in a rage ready to hurl more fire bolts, but when he was halfway, Captain Cool punched him, sending Volcan smashing through buildings. After all that, he had no power left so he ran away so the police wouldn’t arrest him.
From that day on Volcan was never seen again. OR WAS HE? No he wasn’t. As for Captain Cool… well, he flew back to his submarine and raced home until the time came to rise again.
